Enrique Ponce


Enrique Ponce is an award-winning composer whose music has been featured in numerous film and video game projects. Enrique graduated Magna Cum Laude with a master’s degree in scoring for film, television, and video games from the Berklee College of Music in Valencia, Spain. He has recorded and conducted his music with renowned film orchestras in the U.K., Hungary, Macedonia, Russia, and Spain. Recognized for his compositional creativity and orchestral zest, Enrique’s music has won and been nominated for awards at film festivals and contest around the world. He has a bachelor’s degree in commercial music from the University of Texas at El Paso, where he studied piano with Dr. Dena Kay Jones and was mentored, beginning at age 16, by composer Dr. Dominic Dousa. At Berklee, Enrique honed his skills with composers Lucio Godoy, Alfons Conde, and Vanessa Garde.

He is based in El Paso, TX, where he scores new projects, including local collaborations with PBS Digital Studios, PRC Productions, Bored Film Studios, Xigma Games, and JonGon Productions. Internationally, Enrique has scored televised productions in Thailand and assisted with compositions and recording sessions in Kuwait and Venezuela. Enrique has worked extensively with Materia Collective, which specializes in video game music, releasing several of his albums, some licensed by SquareEnix and Nintendo. He has received commissions from various student ensembles, including the El Paso Symphony Youth Orchestra. Enrique Ponce will perform his original score for Her Husband’s Trademark, with a string quartet, at 1 pm Sunday, July 27 in the Plaza Theatre.
