Inspired by the new Film and Multimedia Production Certificate launching this fall at El Paso Community College, the next generation of border filmmakers will present their work at this inaugural student film showcase featuring work by El Paso Community College and University of Texas at El Paso student filmmakers. The new program features award-winning student works from film festivals held on both institutions’ campuses, curated into an 90-minute program and complemented by a conversation with faculty and students after the program. This is the first in what we hope will become an annual Plaza Classic tradition. The films and filmmakers are: A Line Between, Sara Lee (EPCC); Art of the Guard, Jazmin Arriaga, EPCC; Grit, Giovanni de la Peña-Francheschi (UTEP); Homosexual Tendencies, Olivia Sandoval (EPCC); Stone Head, Giovanni Martinez (EPCC); Anatomic Imitation, Rainier Galaviz (UTEP); Madeleine, Jonathan Wilson (UTEP); La Pintura, Rene Acosta (EPCC); and The Gig, Alan Acosta (UTEP). — Lisa Elliott
